Honoree 2013 – Lynn Hemans

Congrats to Lynn Hemans for being honored as an outstanding community volunteer!

Nominating Organization:  Taco Bell Corp.

Honoree Category:  Education

Why Nominated:  Lynn, an employee of Taco Bell is an inspiration to us all as she gives so much time and energy to so many causes each year.  More importantly, she has helped shape the future of many children in need through the Project Hope Alliance.

Because of Lynn, Taco Bell was able to assist with the remodel of Sky View Elementary School in Orange.  The school provides it’s children (many of which are homeless), a stable, caring and nurturing environment that they wouldn’t receive anywhere else.  Lynn was instrumental in uniting local businesses, the school district, the teachers and our employees to assist with the massive makeover efforts..

But her hard work has not stopped there.  She has been an active member on the board who has inspired others to join in CCFA’s efforts to find a cure for IBD.  She has selflessly raised tens of thousands of dollars through her contacts and most importantly, has dedicated numerous hours of her own time spreading CCFA’s goals and missions.  For the members of the Leadership Board, Carol is considered the gold standard.  Simply put, Carol is a true leader and considered as such by her colleagues.  Perhaps it is not surprising that she has dedicated so much since she has drawn her inspiration from her son, who has been battling Crohn’s disease since high school.  Carol has never sought praise for her work, but rather results.  We hope that we can publically celebrate her work through this nomination process.

Please write a note of congratulations below!
