Congrats to Rhoda Becker for being honored as an outstanding community volunteer!
Nominating Organization: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County
Honoree Category: Human & Community
Why Nominated: Rhoda began her work for CASA as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in April of 1997. During her time as an advocate, she worked with five different children over the course of eight years. Following her last case, Rhoda stayed on as a volunteer for the CASA agency. She began by helping with new trainee packets, then moved on to coming in weekly and completing reviews of legal files at court for children on the CASA wait list. In July 2008, Rhoda began volunteering in the CASA Family Connections program where she works to find family members for foster youth. Rhoda currently continues this work in family connections and doing file reviews at court; she is an invaluable help to our agency and to the foster youth we serve.
