Congrats to Patricia Williams for being honored as an outstanding community volunteer!
Nominating Organization: Crittenton Services for Children and Families
Honoree Category: Human & Community
Why Nominated: For more than 20 years Pat Williams has been Crittenton’s head holiday elf and special needs purveyor. Each year she organizes the Christmas wishes from the Crittenton children on Angel Cards, and matches each child (anonymously) with a donor who wants to grant a Christmas wish for a child. From shoes to Barbie dolls, from sheets to sweats, she knows where they can be bought at the best price. She organizes all this in her home, her garage, and a holiday warehouse. Pat’s passion for insuring the children have a special Christmas day – at least while they are at Crittenton – doesn’t end with Santa passing the gifts – but extends to special needs such as new shoes – what she calls “dignity baskets” for the children’s families – and special projects which she takes on all year long. Over the years Pat has tried to insure that the holidays away from home for the Crittenton children are filled with joy. Pat currently serves as President of Kids Matter Auxiliary. Last year she was awarded the Presidential Lifetime Volunteer Service Award for her work on behalf of Crittenton. She is a remarkable woman with both a passion and mission to help troubled children. Fortunately, for Crittenton, her passion and mission are dedicated to the Crittenton children and their families. Crittenton Services for Children and Families is proud to honor her.
