Why Nominated:  Don Wintz is one of those rare volunteers that you wish you had a hundred of. He is a dedicated and humble individual, always keeping the focus on the land and its needs with little thought to his own. As a Docent, Don constantly seeks out ways to support and improve public programs.  Don also gives a hand to resource management and field operations, volunteering for Fire Watch and Trail Boss duties.   His assistance has become invaluable.  Don is a great ambassador for IRC.  His passion for the preservation of the open space shines in all he does during his volunteer time, and it rubs off on many of the people who have the good fortune to meet him.
