Honoree Team 2013 – Dennis Kuhl & The Angels

Congrats to Dennis Kuhl & The Angels for being honored as an outstanding community volunteers!Dennis&Angels_Team

Team Name: Dennis Kuhl & The Angels

Team Members: Dennis Kuhl & The Angels

Nominating Organization:  Susan G. Komen for the Cure Orange County Affiliate

Honoree Category: Human & Community

Why Nominated:  Susan G. Komen for the Cure Orange County Affiliate’s Partner for the Cure is Dennis Kuhl & the Angels.  Three years ago we added a new category of award called Partner for the Cure.

It is awarded to an individual who goes above and beyond to make a positive impact on the community and exceptional contributions to the OC Affiliate of Susan G. Komen. Our inaugural award went to Ed Arnold, which was quite fitting since Ed has been the voice of the Race for the Cure since the very first Race and he was also one of our first Pink Tie Guys. In 2010, it went to another wonderful Pink Tie Guy, Wayne Pinnell with Haskell & White, and in 2011 the recipient was Experian. This year we are very pleased to present the 2012 Partner for the Cure award to Dennis Kuhl and The Angels.

Angels Baseball has been a strong partner of Komen OC since 2007. Each Mothers Day, Angels Baseball celebrates survivors by including them in the pre-game ceremony. Throughout the past few years, they’ve included a fundraising component.  Our strong partnership with Angels and Dennis was apparent when – for the first time ever they allowed and approved an event, the Pink Tie Ball, on the sacred field during the baseball season.

Each year they continue to fundraise for Komen and include us in a variety of ways:
– Use of the jumbotron to promote the Race during games
– Allowed banners inside the park to promote the Race
– Dennis is a Pink Tie Guy, class of 2008 and also a board member
– Angels Baseball is a 2012 Top Fundraising award recipient for the Race for the Cure

Please write a note of congratulations below!
