Why Nominated:  Dena Hernandez is a champion for change in her community.  She has faithfully given of her time, talent, and treasure for years to help improve the lives of others. Through fundraising, networking, volunteerism, and personal support, Dena has inspired thousands of people to get involved with helping others. Her positive attitude and faith help to make her the woman we love and respect.

Dena has volunteered with Canning Hunger for many years. Under her leadership, the community volunteer network at Bank of America has participated in food collection projects such as “Box of Love” and “One Can At A Time”, resulting in over 100,000 meals for hungry kids and their families in our local communities.  Through her initiative for networking and serving others, she has also been personally responsible for encouraging numerous other organizations to join in the quest of reducing hunger and hunger related causes in Orange County.

Canning Hunger is blessed to have Dena Hernandez as a volunteer on the front lines with us in the fight against hunger.
