Why Nominated:  Mary Miyamoto is a passionate volunteer who is focused on early detection, on-going support and breast cancer education with the goal of eradicating this disease.  A survivor herself, Mary has devoted countless hours towards raising awareness and funds that provide the best care for those afflicted with breast cancer in our community. As the chair of Mission Hospital’s Valiant Women Breast Health Wall of Honor, she works with other Valiant Women to champion this cause. What makes Mary special is her soft-spoken manner, fueled by the passion and dedication of a grateful patient, while still fulfilling the many duties of motherhood.  She is lovely to work with and we are fortunate to have her as part of the Mission Hospital family.

Your tireless dedication to the Breast Health Wall of Honor and Valiant Women is remarkable. Most notable is your kind and open demeanor that is a true pleasure to work with. Educating many and raising much needed funds in support of research, mammograms, and diagnostic procedures for the uninsured and underinsured in our community. You took on a task with no training and excelled with grace and dignity.
