Why Nominated:  Since 2010, Jim Salomon has served as chairman of the building and waterfront design committee for ExplorOcean, America’s premiere nonprofit ocean literacy center located in the heart of Newport Beach, Calif. (www.explorocean.org.) In this volunteer position, he coordinates all of the consultants supporting ExplorOcean’s capital campaign geared toward the expansion of the ocean-themed, science- and adventure-based cultural institution. He joined the board of ExplorOcean because it combines his love for the environment and his passion for improving children’s lives through education. His solid working relationships have earned the respect of the Los Angeles County Fire Dept., the State of California Office of Statewide Healthcare Planning and Development, O.S.H.P.D plan checkers, consulting engineers and several renowned architectural firms. ExplorOcean couldn’t be more pleased to have Salomon’s support, and believes he fully embodies the values that the Spirit of Volunteerism Award and One OC represent.

Please write a note of congratulations below!
