Congrats to Lynda Armbruster for being honored as an outstanding community volunteer!
Nominating Organization: Irvine Ranch Conservancy
Honoree Category: Animals & Environment
Why Nominated: Lynda is a volunteer who goes above and beyond in her dedication to the multiple purposes of the Irvine Ranch Conservancy. Each week you can find her on Hicks Haul Road, leading the public on fitness-based hikes. She is always checking to make sure all the hikes are covered with volunteer support, and that the volunteers and public have educational resources for a safe and fun hike. Her sense of caring and responsibility exceed the boundaries of Hicks Haul Road and continue throughout the land. Lynda started out as a frequent participant on hikes, and after a small push, jumped at the chance to do more for the land. Lynda has rolled up her sleeves to help with restorations, native seed farming, wildlife monitoring, and preventing our most serious noxious weeds from spreading. She has consistently stepped up to lend a hand whenever needed and has provided leadership, encouragement and support for programs. She holds many volunteer titles such as a Docent, Fire Watch volunteer, and Lead Land steward. The variety of programs she volunteers for is outstanding. Having over 1000 hours of service in only two years as a volunteer, she is an amazing asset for the Conservancy and for the land.
