Edwards_MichelleName:  Michelle Edwards

Nominating Organization:  Wells Fargo

Honoree Category:  Human & Community

Why Nominated:  Michelle creating her own non-profit and held their first event in 2013, which was a huge success. She has been a team captain for the choc walk for 7 years straight and also enjoys volunteering in my community.  She has also volunteered at several local events in the community and usually spend her weekends volunteering.  Michelle volunteered for the Miss Amazing pageant (for women and girls with disabilities) for 2 years now and was recently the judge liaison and tabulator at the Miss Amazing pageant this last month. Also, recently joining the board for the Miss Amazing pageant and helping to plan next year’s event.  Through the creation of her non-profit, Talent for Epilepsy, she has been able to reach thousands of people with their message and increase awareness for the cause. The first event held November of 2013 raised over $5000. Proceeds will be used for future events and were also donated to the Epilepsy foundation. Their plans are to eventually use the funds to create a scholarship fund for children with disabilities to help families pay for medication and medical bills. Usually Michelle is volunteering every weekend and spends a great deal of her time with planning and administration duties as they apply to Talent for Epilepsy. She has volunteered at over 50 organizations in the past 10 years.
