Honoree 2014 – Virginia Webber

Congrats to Virginia Webber for being honored as an outstanding community volunteer!

Webber_VirginiaName:  Virginia Webber

Nominating Organization:  Irvine Ranch Conservancy

Honoree Category:  Animals & Environment

Why Nominated:  Virginia Webber has given over 1,000 hours of volunteer time since her start date in 2011 with the Irvine Ranch Conservancy. While the time alone is a truly heroic effort, it does not shine light on the true value and the essence of what Virginia has contributed. She has provided guidance, enlightenment, engagement, and true passion in every one of those hours. The breadth of these hours are sprinkled across the Conservancy: in Public Programs, supporting a weekly fitness hike, and as office assistant, doing calendaring, activity editing, and program testing; in Science and Stewardship, hunting down tree tobacco, mustard, and other invasives on steep, thorny, uninviting hillsides; trail building with Field Operations; and in Communications, writing articles for our newsletter and outside publications that support understanding and protection of our natural resources.  She is a big-picture thinker who sees the value and uniqueness of the organization’s mission and brings that to the forefront of each of her interactions with us and her fellow volunteers. She is a continuous learner, and a voracious reader of all kinds of literature related to what we do. Today we honor a cherished volunteer, who radiates her light and passion upon us.

Please write a note of congratulations below!
