Honoree 2014 – America Gonzalez

Congrats to America Gonzalez for being honored as an outstanding community volunteer!

Gonzalez_AmericaName:  America Gonzalez

Nominating Organization:  THINK Together

Honoree Category:  Education

Why Nominated:  America has been with THINK Together’s afterschool program at Davis Elementary for 6 months and during her time with us it seems she has been here for years. She is an outstanding volunteer, her ability to come to Davis with a smile and an eagerness to make it better for the students is amazing. Everyday she comes to the THINK Together program willing to help our staff members run an efficient program.  America’s tremendous abilities never ceased to amaze us. Our staff are limited to how many things they can do during program hours, America is willing to jump in and run copies, refill templates, laminate, help with big events that happen monthly, train volunteers make connections with daytime staff , check in with Program Leaders to see if they need anything and is able to find the time to read to make connections with the students. Even though America receives praises from Program Leaders and school staff she remains humble and continues to give her time to the students of Davis Elementary.  She is a young lady with great working habits, professionalism, punctual and dependable and we believe she deserves to be recognized. We hope America will stay for a long time with us and eventually work with THINK Together as a Program Leader, because she has our mission and values at heart.

Please write a note of congratulations below!

  1. America has been a great asset to our organization. Even though she is in high school, she has demonstrated responsibility, leadership and commitment to her community. Her ability to perform quality work leads me to believe she will triumph in her educational pathway.
