Congrats to Dolly Villarreal for being honored as an outstanding community volunteer!
Nominating Organization: Dorothy Visser Senior Center
Honoree Category: Human & Community
Why Nominated: Dolly has volunteered at the Dorothy Visser Senior Center of San Clemente for 11 years. She serves senior lunch meals two to three times a week and will assist other days of the week if other volunteers are not able to do the lunch service. Dolly decorated our former smaller senior center for eight years for special holidays and for the last three years has decorated the new center’s 8,000 square feet for various holidays and special events. Being a true “”people person””, Dolly has recruited another volunteer, Alicia, to help her decorate our center. Between these two, and with help from other people Dolly can usually round up, the center is truly a showplace! She also volunteers at special events held at the center doing whatever needs to be done or asked of her. It is also not unusual to see Dolly daily at our center and her willingness and ability to cover the many volunteer tasks is appreciated more than any words could ever say.
This “angel” assisted in fundraising to build the new senior center and constantly continues to encourage others to support the Age Well Senior Services’ programming at the Dorothy Visser Senior Center. Dolly helps raise funds to support the ongoing activities and programs at the Dorothy Visser Senior Center. Dolly enriches the lives of so many seniors and community members and this recognition is our way of saying a big “”Thank You”” to her for her tireless efforts!
