Why Nominated: “Kevin joined the reserve program in March 2012 and attended Ranger Academy #3. He has dedicated approx. 900 hours of service since 2012.
Kevin works at various parks most often during the busiest days. Rangers frequently say he is courteous, communicates very well on the radio and works well independently. He often will extend his shift to help out if it is needed. Kevin is always willing to get dirty if need be by cleaning out ditches or landscaping. He comes prepared with the necessary tools or safety equipment required. While controlling parking or traffic he always has his flashlight and safety vest.
He knows South Coastal Ops like the back of his hand. South Coastal says the best thing about Kevin is listening to the Lifeguards talk about what an excellent job he’s been doing. It’s always good to know we have good reserves coming out to help us, but when we get high remarks from outside agencies, you know you have a Great Reserve. The Lifeguards have written letters to South Coastal commenting on what a great job he did for the surf contest.
Kevin is an excellent example of the Ranger Reserve Program!

Thanks for your support and hard work at South Coastal. We appreciate you volunteering for all the complicated and difficult special events we hold at this facility, such as the largest special event in Salt Creek’s 40 year history, the Battle of the Paddle last October with over 4000 attendees and 1200 vendors each day. We look forward to working with you in the future at all the busy holidays, calmly informing the user public on the best way to enjoy the facility….and where to park….

I worked with kevin at Denaults he totally deserved this award! Kevin is extremely courteous, industrious, outgoing, and dedicated. He never had a bad day or showed any negativity. He’s the man we’re lucky he works in our Parks/Operations system i couldnt think of a more trustworthy person then Kevin. Congrats.
