Honoree 2015 – Don Havens

Congrats to Don Havens for being honored as an outstanding community volunteer!

Name:  Don Havens

Nominating Organization:  Irvine Ranch Conservancy

Honoree Category:  Animals & Environment

Why Nominated:  Don Havens has been volunteering with Irvine Ranch Conservancy for close to ten years. He began when the Conservancy was in its infancy, working with the City of Irvine. He has since become a Docent and participates in a variety of programs with the Conservancy. He can be found leading public mountain bike tours and helping with the mountain bike skills clinic, teaching novice riders safe and appropriate riding techniques, as well as assisting with yoga, trail work and stewardship activities across the land. Don is always willing to help, with great enthusiasm for educating the public about the lands and ways in which to give back. He is a great ambassador for the lands of the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks, even when he isn’t serving in formal volunteer duties. While out riding and hiking the trails on his own, he is always willing to show a new visitor what the areas have to offer. He is extremely dedicated to the activities and to the long-term preservation of the land, and he is greatly appreciated by the staff of multiple Conservancy departments.

Please write a note of congratulations below!
