Honoree 2015 – Jenniann Minardi

Congrats to Jenniann Minardi for being honored as an outstanding community volunteer!

Name:  Jenniann Minardi

Nominating Organization:  Orange County Ronald McDonald House

Honoree Category:  Human & Community

Why Nominated:  I know everyone always feels like they have volunteers that go “above and beyond the call of duty””.. well they haven’t met Jenni. Jenni truly embodies what it means to be a committed and dedicated volunteer. When Jenni retired as a VP of Wells Fargo in early in 2012, she decided that she was going to remain active in her community and as such, decided to donate her time to the Orange County Ronald McDonald House. What she didn’t know is that 2 years later, the House was going to be so intertwined with her life that it was going to be like a job! Jenni is a core volunteer at the House that commits to two four hour shifts a week at the House. Her responsibilities as a core volunteer include: answering phones, putting away donations, cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces, checking families in and out, cleaning rooms, writing donation thank you cards, inputting volunteer hours and much much more. As if that isn’t a commitment in itself, Jenni also volunteers her time at all our fundraising event. Throughout the years, she has formed a team for our annual Walk for Kids where she has recruited her friends and family and raised money for the House. She also volunteers as a silent and live auction cashier for our other fundraising events – the Golf tournament and the High Tea and Fashion Show. |Then in 2015, Jenni’s role at the House grew again! Not only was she invited to be part of the Walk for Kids committee, Jenni was also tasked with planning and launching a new volunteer program – the OCRMH Volunteer Ambassador Program. Jenni met with staff weekly to discuss goals and outcomes of the program and eventually was responsible for drafting and creating the mission of the program: OCRMH Ambassadors are a core group of trained and knowledgeable volunteers who build relationships with communities to raise awareness, expand outreach, and promote volunteerism for the benefit of the families who stay at the House that Love Built. Following which, Jenni, together with the Volunteer Manager, planned an Ambassador volunteer session and a Kick Off Party. The idea behind the ambassador program is simple… Jenni knew that if people were able to learn about the House and its mission, just like her, more people would support the house inkind or financially. It is that passion that drives her to attend meeting after meeting about the Walk, Ambassador, House needs etc. It is that passion that led her to reach out to schools in OC, persuade their administration to let her meet with their students to discuss the Walk and ways they can support the House. That same passion fuels her to be “”on-call”” for the House when we need her. Jenni never fails to come through for us when we need her the most, whether it be a Friday night, Sunday morning or a random Wednesday afternoon. I’m not really sure where we would be without her. She truly is deserving of this award.

Please write a note of congratulations below!
