Why Nominated: Judi has been a huge asset in the start of our literacy program. The volunteers in this program are critical to it’s ability to function. Judi has acted as a lead volunteer with her past experience and love for reading. She has been with Girls Inc. since this program started and has helped trained other volunteers that were just beginning. Having an experienced volunteer like Judi allows the staff to spend more time working with the girls.
The youth participants love reading with Judi and we have seen great results with the girls she has been working with. The staff know they are able to rely on her without question. She has a great amount of patience and truly gets the girls excited about reading. We are so fortunate to have a lead volunteer like Judi to help us establish such a wonderful program!
