Why Nominated:  Marty Smith has been in the HB Neighborhood Program, Newsletter Assembly group, for over 7 years. She deserves to be recognized because of her dedication to the program and the positive attitude she brings with her. This positive attitude makes her someone very enjoyable to be around and work with. Marty is a quiet person that works extremely hard. She is one of the first people to arrive and stays until all the work is finished.

Her peers also say she is cheerful and fun to be around. If anyone needs her help she gladly lends a helping hand. In addition after she finishes collating and preparing for mailing her pile of HB Neighborhood Watch Newsletters she always checks to see if she can help anyone else with their newsletters, without being asked.

Marty is very dedicated and supportive to the program and is a great role model for what a volunteer should be. She is a hard worker, enthusiastic, and very dedicated. Her positive attitude, and cheerful demeanor encourages others to volunteer. It is easy to understand why she was selected by her peers as one of our HB Neighborhood Watch, Newsletter Assembly Volunteer of the Year. The Huntington Beach Police Department is proud to have her as a member of our organization; we and the community thank her for her dedicated service.
