Congrats to Bolsa Chica Conservancy and The Boeing Company for being the 2015 Giving is Living Award winner!
Bolsa Chica Conservancy and The Boeing Company have been strong community partners since the beginning of the conservancy’s work. For the past 25 years, Boeing’s Global Corporate Citizenship and Employees Community Fund of Boeing California (ECF) have provided support through grants and sponsorships.
This partnership, however, is about more than signing a check – Boeing’s employees and leaders also devote their time, energy and skills in support of the Conservancy’s mission to provide environmental services and promote sustainability through community restoration work, leadership and education.
Boeing’s involvement with the Conservancy’s Board of Directors, and their annual Boeing Service Day – a day in which Boeing volunteers participate in wetlands cleanup – are some prime examples of Boeing’s desire to create real, tangible value as a socially responsible corporate citizen.
Boeing also invests in the Conservancy’s education and restoration programs in an effort to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, environmentalists and future leaders. The Employees Community Fund, for example, recognized Bolsa Chica Conservancy with two Crystal Vision Award grants to advance hands-on science education and youth leadership programs, which engage middle and high school students to participate in their communities and environment. They aim to empower youth leaders with skills to motivate others, in an effort to foster a network of environmental advocates.
Bolsa Chica Conservancy and Boeing are proud of the long-standing partnership to promote environmental stewardship, educate our communities and foster the sustainability of our planet.
OneOC is proud to honor such an outstanding partnership and we look forward to presenting Bolsa Chica Conservancy and the Boeing Company with the 2015 Giving is Living Award at the Luncheon on April 14th.
