Why Nominated:  With a deep-rooted foundation based on community, giving and volunteerism, Cox Communications has built a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism that its employees embrace whole heartedly. The Cox Cares Foundation, which provides financial support to Orange County organizations and programs making a difference in the lives of local youth and families, is funded and administered by Cox employees whose financial contributions to the foundation are matched by the company Cox employees complement their financial contributions by the giving of their time, empowering Cox to expand on its partnerships with local non-profit organizations in the community.

The Cox Cares Foundation’s giving areas are managed by a diverse group of 20 Cox employees who volunteer their time to serve on the advisory board and committees that review funding requests.

The Cox Cares Foundation Advisory Board volunteers dozens of hours annually serving on review committees and non-profit boards, interviewing scholarship candidates and representing the foundation at community events and functions.
