Why Nominated:  Michelle is recognized for her incredible dedication to promoting the arts on campus at The Academy Charter High School, a community project of Orangewood Children’s Foundation. With 71% of students on the free or reduced lunch program, The Academy targets educationally underserved teens prepares them for college and careers. Michelle facilitates the Art Class during the after-school program and is coordinating a fundraiser to in Fullerton to benefit the art program. Michelle is also organizing off-campus opportunities for students to display their work to the public. She is encouraging our students to explore their individuality and unique contributions to the world around them through drawings, paintings, wood carvings and sculptural works. And, she does all of this with warmth and compassion, which the students are very appreciative of. Thank you, Michelle!
